SPARK CHAOS: The Redux
Don’t Fear The Reaper (Now with Less HVAC) *Working Title
Don't Fear The Reaper by Eddie Zipperer
Follow a day in the life of the Grim Reaper—the day he gets fired.
Steve's soul seems like a routine reaping at first, but ultimately presents a problem unseen for 40,000 years. In his mediocrity, Steve has reached a perfect balance on the scale of good and evil and must choose his own fate on The Fating Game, where God and Satan vie for his soul. Cornered by God, Satan, another reaper vying for his job, and his wife, the Reaper is forced to decide whether he should go quietly or take the world down with him.

The Musical, The Bible: The Complete Word of God (Abridged), Les Liaisons Dangereuses, The Who's Tommy, Bikini Creature Beach Feature, Private Eyes, and Moon Over Buffalo. Jeff has read several books, and could prove it to you if he wanted, but really shouldn't have to. Who are you!? The book police!? What's with all the questions!?

This is Angela’s first time working with Spark Plug Theatre Collective and she is super excited to be here! . You may have seen Angela playing with Portland ComedySportz, or doing scripted work at various community theatres around the metro area. She wants to thank her wonderful husband for all his support and making her laugh when she is feeling glum.

Kira Smolev thinks it's terrific (or is it terrifying?) and thrilling to return to Spark Chaos! She's been doing a whole bunch of theater stuff lately: playing Sister Augusta (yes, a nun) in Drinking Habits at HART, Trisha (not a nun) in Five Women Wearing the Same Dress at Wilsonville Stage, among others, and costuming A LOT of shows for various theaters (turns out actors want to wear clothes on stage). As always, many thanks go to Slava and Lina, her cast mates, and Spark Plug for providing this wonderful opportunity to play!

Engineer by day, crime fighting superhero by ni… just kidding, actor and fitness instructor by night. Gnyanesh is always excited to be a part of unique productions. His past experience includes not only several stage theatre, but also short films, music videos, street theatre and dance performances. When not engineering or thespianinzing, he loves to hike, travel and attend Bollywood dance workshops with his wife.

You’re catching Adam between musicals: he just finished performing in H.M.S. Pinafore with Light Opera of Portland and will be in Cabaret with Sherwood Foundation for the Arts in January. With Spark Plug Theatre Collective, Adam has appeared in Infamy, Inc. and A Sleeping Country.

Anna (pronounced “Ah-na”) is a seasoned Spark Plug veteran, professional Stage Manager, and a musician with a background in symphonic and marching percussion. Amidst the wealth of theatre crimes she has committed for years with Amanda, Les, and Alex -- her repertoire includes work with many Portland Metro theatre companies, including but not limited to: Beaverton Civic Theatre, Oregon Children’s Theatre, Broadway Rose, 21Ten, Profile, and Portland Center Stage. In addition to on stage appearances across the country and abroad, in recent years, she has played “Princess Anna” (from Frozen) at the Beaverton Winter Lights, been on film with BCT, dabbled in improv, and has done some voice work as an overhead announcer. Special thanks to Matt for all of his encouragement and support!

Jason is excited to be working with Spark Plug again after making music for (and acting in) many of their productions, such as (music-wise): Secret Order, Now & Then, In Memory Of, Lifespan of a Fact, Lungs, and Slow Food. People often ask me how I do it, and all I can say is that Les once called me his favorite, and it really stuck with me. I’m absolutely certain he’s never said that to anyone else. Thanks also to Pax for her unending support! Rock over London, Rock on Chicago. Wheaties: Breakfast of Champions.
