Stories That
Ignite Conversation
About
Spark Plug Theatre Collective is an ensemble-based theatre company based in Beaverton, Oregon that seeks out Stories That Ignite Conversation and Inspire New Perspectives, celebrating the essential power of the theatre to illuminate our common humanity. Alongside volunteers, SPTC works to elevate the burgeoning arts scene in Beaverton, enhancing our community through collaborative artistry.
Productions are developed in a fully produced, elevated black box/studio-style. Currently, Spark Plug loads their full production in-and-out of a UHaul for each performance, transforming the back room of Ki Coffee into an intimate, 22-seat theatre space for raw, authentic performances.
Projects are chosen with ensemble members in mind some roles are cast from outside the ensemble. When this happens, auditions are by invitation. If you would like to be considered for future opportunities onstage or behind-the-scenes - drop us a line and let us know your interests!

A founding member of Spark Plug Theatre Collective, Amanda is consistently fueled and inspired by the incredible artists who give their time and their talent to share these stories with the community.
Originally from the Midwest, she holds degrees in both Acting and Advertising from Ball State University. Since relocating to the Pacific Northwest in 2011, she’s been active in the area’s theatre scene as an both an actor and director. By day, she is the Marketing Manager for Chehalem Cultural Center in Newberg.
Behind-the-scenes, she’s directed pieces including FUTURA, Slow Food, Infamy, Inc., and Almost, Maine. Some favorite past acting roles include Woman in Lungs, Annette in God of Carnage, Berta in Boeing, Boeing, Corie Bratter in Barefoot in the Park, and Laurie in Stage Kiss.
When not involved in a theatre project, she can often be found outdoors, if the weather allows, or in the rainy season, cozied up with a movie/book/tv show, likely with a glass of wine to enjoy alongside the story.

Born and raised in Chicago, Les caught the acting bug shortly after graduating from the University of Illinois. He performed with the improv group Jezebel's Lunchbox before moving to the Portland area in 2001. He picked up the acting bug again in 2004 after taking improv classes at CSz Portland, also known as ComedySportz. It was there he honed his acting skills, performing in over 300 improv shows. In 2013, Les started his journey performing scripted material, and has since appeared in over 30 productions. Some of his favorite shows and roles include Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead as Rosencrantz (or was it Guildenstern?), The Man Who Came to Dinner as Banjo, Silent Sky as Peter Shaw, Tony and Tina's Wedding as Tony, Hand to God as Pastor Greg, and Spark Plug Theatre Collective's inaugural show FUTURA as Gash.
Les' Chicago roots have ingrained in him a deep love and appreciation for all Chicago sports teams, whether they be bad or good (looking at you especially, Bears!) He also has a deep affinity for pro wrestling (aka wrasslin', aka sports entertainment). When his schedule allows, he will catch up on British panel/game shows like Taskmaster and Would I Lie to You? And if he's lucky, he will get to enjoy the outdoors by hiking, barbecuing, or wine tasting.
